The Ultimate Packing List for a Road Trip with Nest Campervans

Camping - Nest Campers
16. January 2018

While our campervans are fully-equipped, there are still some things that, logistically, we cannot provide, or that you may want for your own personal comforts.

To help you plan your Nest adventure, we put together a list of suggested items that past renters have recommended packing over the time.

Nest Campers tip

Soft luggage is the name of the game for campervan trips! It makes packing up the van a breeze.

Previous renters tend to leave some great things behind with us when their trips end! Feel free to pick through them and take what you like when you pick up your van.

Be sure to read over what’s already included in the cost of your campervan, and browse our extras page for convenient add-ons to your rental before you hit the road.

each nest campers campervan rental includes a packet of nuts - a perfect road trip snack!
Our campervans are fully equipped for your road trip adventure.
And because we're nuts about nuts, we've partnered up with Tasty company - each campervan rental includes a packet of their nuts, which is a perfect road trip snack!

Do not forget!

  • Driver’s license
  • Credit card
  • Cash
  • Phone + charger
  • Passport
  • A travel buddy! smiley

Once you have all that packed ...

Our biggest suggestion is to pack layers. Packing smartly and bringing different layers is the best way to prepare for road trip temperature changes and great adventures.

Aside from your basic t-shirts and shorts, we recommend:

  • Thick wool socks
  • Long pants
  • Hat
  • Warm jacket
  • Rain coat
  • Hiking shoes
  • Swim suit
  • Toiletry items
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Sandals - good for campground showers and for lounging
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Insect repellent
  • Laundry bag  - if you’re going on a longer trip, it can be nice to do some laundry at larger campgrounds
  • Towels - You may want one for showering and one for swimming/beaches. Quick-drying towels are best for when you’re on the road. You can also rent towels from us as an extra (towel set consist of one big and one small towel).

And if you still have some space left in your travel backpack, add:

  • Camera
  • Day pack
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Duct tape
  • First Aid
  • Small sewing kit
  • Books

We’re happy to help out with any packing questions you may have. Contact us here.

See you soon!
