1. Sage is a natural mosquito repellent.
Adding sage to your campfire or fire pit keeps mosquitoes and bugs away. Throw some sage on the fire every now and then, and it should help keep those little annoying animals away.
2. Pack a backpack like a boss.
If you’re gonna be moving, pack lightly and efficiently.

3. Keep your clothes warm.
Especially if you’re camping in the winter, you can keep your clothes warm by putting the next day’s clothes in your sleeping bag while you sleep. Just stuff them down to the bottom of your bag as extra insulation— they will keep you warm during the night and you will thank yourself in the cold morning.

4. Smoke it with rosemary.
A nice alternative to a marinade — just put the rosemary directly on the charcoal and underneath the meat. Once the coals are uniformly gray and ashy, cover them with fresh rosemary branches. Your meat and vegetables will be flavored with the taste of savory herbs.
5. Never lose your keys in the water again.
Attach your keys to a cork. Practically essential if you’re doing some water sports or camping near the water.

6. DIY Travel Cup
Something always gets spilled. An easy way to minimize the disaster area is a plastic wrap and a straw.
7. Easy Scrambled Eggs
Eggs are a staple breakfast that everyone loves. To create this easy meal while camping the easiest thing to do it break them into a bottle with a lid (i.e. a water bottle, creamer bottle, etc). Add a little milk (optional) and seasoning and shake it well before pouring it into the pan to cook. It’ll save a bowl, time, and it recycles a bottle!
8. Make candle stakes for romantic nighttime lighting.
Want to make your camping spot a bit more special? All you need are some candles and some sticks. Oh, and some matches or a lighter.

9. Make an easy-to-carry fire starter with a cardboard-only egg carton and match light charcoal.
No need to waste your time on starting up a fire. You just have to light the carton and the fire will catch on to the charcoal.

10. Cold nights?
Some people were born with cold feet. To cope while camping, fill your water bottle up with hot water and throw it in the bottom of your sleeping bag before bedtime.
11. Wet shoes
There’s no use crying over wet shoes. Remove your insoles and stuff a dry shirt or some newspaper in your boots overnight to dry them out.
12. Washing your sleeping bag
When drying a down-filled sleeping bag, include a few tennis balls to preserve loft.
